This report presents results of Wave 1 of the ITC Mauritius Survey – The Wave 1 Survey was conducted approximately two months after the implementation of Phase 1 of the Public Health (Restrictions on Tobacco Products) Regulations (2008). These regulations strengthened existing policies on smoking in public places and advertising, promotion, and sponsorship of tobacco products. Other measures included a ban on the sale of tobacco to minors and by minors; a ban on the display of tar and nicotine content or carbon monoxide yield on packs; and measures to reduce the illicit trade of cigarettes.
