Dr. Cho is the (Co-)Principal Investigator of the ITC Korea (KRA) Survey for Wave 5 in Korea. He is responsible for the coordination of the research team. Dr. Cho is a Professor of Epidemiology at the Graduate School of Public Health, Seoul National University, in Seoul, Korea. His research takes a perspective on population health and spans a wide range of topics, including infectious diseases, chronic conditions, and behavioral risk factors such as tobacco and alcohol use, physical activity, work-related stress, and sleep.

As a consultant, Dr. Cho has collaborated with the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) and the Seoul Metropolitan Government. His work supports policy development and the evaluation of initiatives related to tobacco control, epidemic preparedness, and public health surveillance.

Dr. Cho currently leads projects funded by the KDCA to monitor the disease burden attributable to tobacco and to disseminate knowledge about tobacco-related harms. The findings contribute to FCTC country reports and KDCA fact books. Studies utilizing ITC data have served as part of the evidence base for these efforts.
