Steve Xu is the ITC Project Manager for China, Japan, India and South Korea. Steve holds a PhD degree in human geography from the University of Hong Kong, a Master’s degree in geomatics (GIS) from the University of Waterloo. He joined the ITC team in August 2013. His research focuses on the impact of tobacco industry’s product and marketing strategies on tobacco users and the transition of tobacco use between cigarette and heated tobacco products.

Prior to joining the ITC Project, Steve Xu held a number of positions in both private and public sectors: Research Associate with Guangzhou Academy of Social Sciences in China, GIS Specialist with Schlumberger Water Services, GIS and Paper Data Librarian with Dundee Precious Metals Inc., and Library Associate with the University of Waterloo Library.
