Mr. Premduth Burhoo holds a degree in Statistics from University of Mumbai and a Master of Research degree in Research Methodology from the University of Mauritius.
He has acted as Principal Investigator in more than a dozen research projects on topics of national importance. Since 1992, he has been the Senior Research Officer at the Mauritius Institute of Health and conducting Health Systems Research. He has also participated in a number of collaborative research projects with various international organizations and researchers. Between April 2008 and February 2011, he was the Project Leader of the Mauritius African Tobacco Situation Analysis Initiative Project. He joined ITC in 2009. He has acted as Regional Coordinator (Africa Region) for the WHO Report on the Global Tobacco Epidemic 2011.
