Prof. Lawrence Ikamari joined the ITC Project in 2011. He is a demographer and has over 25 years of professional experience conducting research in population and reproductive health. His training and competencies include demographic analysis, population policy analysis, health systems research, advanced research methods, analysis of survey and census data, monitoring and evaluation.

Currently he is the Director of Population Studies and Research Institute of the University of Nairobi. Between April 2007 and February 2013, he was also the Associate Director of Research at the University of Nairobi Centre for HIV Research and Prevention. His research interests include understanding changes in fertility, mortality, transitions to adulthood, family formation, the social aspects of reproductive health and HIV/AIDS, child and maternal health, monitoring and evaluation and data analysis. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals on population and reproductive health matters.
