Dr. Farizah Mohd Hairi is an Associate Professor in Health Policy and Management at the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. She is a member of three research centres at the University of Malaya, namely Centre for Clinical Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Practice, Centre for Population Health (CePH), and the Nicotine Addiction research group of the University of Malaya Centre of Addiction Sciences (UMCAS). Her current research themes include Prevent Elder Abuse and Neglect Initiatives (PEACE), and SCOPE (Smoking Cessation: Organizing, Planning and Execution), i.e., training healthcare professionals on smoking cessation. Today, Farizah continues to teach both the undergraduate and postgraduate students, conduct research, and do consultation work in the vast growing field of public health with a particular interest in community geriatrics, elderly care, tobacco control, and health services management.
