Dr. David Hammond holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of British Colombia, an M.Sc. in Health Studies, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Waterloo. Dr. Hammond is a Professor and University Research Chair in the School of Public Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo. His primary research focus is on policies that reach large segments of the population and target primary determinants of health such as tobacco use, diet, and illicit drug use. He has served as an Advisor to the World Health Organization (WHO) and consulted with governments throughout the world on tobacco packaging and labeling policies.
