He is the Head of the National Tobacco Control Center (NTCC), Korea Health Promotion Institute (KHEPI), within the Ministry of Health and Welfare. In this position, he plays a central role in developing and coordinating tobacco control efforts for the country. More importantly, NTCC built a tobacco marketing surveillance system in Korea and has been conducting annual monitoring of the industry’s marketing tactics in order to raise awareness of a comprehensive ban on tobacco advertising, promotion, and sponsorship.
