Aree Jampaklay has been an Associate Professor at the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University since 2009. She earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2003. Her research has focused on migration process and migration’s effects on family left behind, family formation, health, and longitudinal studies. Her current researches include a longitudinal study on the impact of parental migration on children’s well-being and a longitudinal study on migration, gender, and conflict in the deep-south provinces of Thailand.
