Andrew (Anaru) is an Associate Professor based at the Eru Pōmare Māori Health Centre, Department of Public Health, University of Otago. He is a trained social scientist with postgraduate degrees in Public Health.

His work includes: survey and cohort studies; qualitative research; and evaluations of community, national and government level policies, programmes and services and teaching in public health. Andrew’s public health interests focus on Māori health and wellbeing, Indigenous health and tobacco control.
