Hungary
Hungary is one of six countries that make up the ITC 6 European Country Project. The ITC 6E Project’s goal is to evaluate the effect of the European Commission’s Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) 2014, through both a pre- and post-implementation longitudinal survey in six European Union Member States. The Articles and subsequent implementing acts of the TPD address issues of tobacco product ingredients, additives, reporting, packaging, labelling, illicit trade, cross border sales, and e-cigarettes among all European Union Member States. The TPD came into effect on May 20th, 2016. The first Wave will be conducted from June to August 2016, and the follow-up Wave is planned for October 2017. The ITC 6 European Country Project is part of the EUREST PLUS Project. Hungary ratified the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) on April 7, 2004.
